What is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most popular high-stakes English language proficiency test for study, work and migration, with more than three million tests taken in the past year. The IELTS results are recognised by more than 10, 000 organisations, including educational institutions, employers, professional associations and governments, in 140 countries around the world.
You can choose to take your IELTS test either on paper or computer, depending on your convenience. There is no difference in the content, format or level of difficulty between the two options. Remember, you will have to carefully choose which module you wish to take - IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training, depending on the purpose of your taking the test.
IELTS is available in: Academic - for people applying for higher education or professional registration, and General Training for those migrating to Australia, Canada and the UK, or applying for secondary education, training programmes and work experience in an English-speaking environment. Both versions provide a valid and accurate assessment of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.

The Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT® test measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. And it evaluates how well you combine your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks.
Developed and conducted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), Test of English as a Foreign Language or more commonly referred to as TOEFL is one of the most popular English proficiency exams accepted at American universities and schools abroad. TOEFL tests the international students’ usage and understanding of English as it is spoken, written and heard in college and university surroundings.

PTE: (Australia)
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)
PTE Academic is a type of test especially conducted for the students who are non-natives. It will help the student to prepare himself or herself to cope up with the scenario of the universities. It is a complete computer-based examination. PTE Academic is endorsed by the Graduate Management Admission Council.
PTE General
PTE General is also one type of PTE test examination. It was formerly known as the London Tests of English. The test is accredited by QCA, the Qualification and Curriculum Authority. It is a theme-based test designed for the speakers of English as a foreign language (EFL). Through this exam, one’s communication skills are recognised and how quickly and easily a candidate remembers the vocabulary and other skills. For this, candidates have to appear in the reading, writing, listening and reading parts. PTE General is accepted by all universities and ministries of education in the world.
Questions often test 2 skills together, such as listening and reading or reading and speaking. The whole test is done in a single session, lasting 3 hours and is taken sitting at a computer in a secure test environment. The speaking part of the exam is done at the computer. Your voice is recorded and sent for marking. One advantage of this test is that you get your results very quickly; in about 5 days.
